Aurora

Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is a Norwegian song writer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, was released in May of 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of music bloggers and the media. Half the World Away from the band Oasis was recorded for an advertisement for John Lewis, and Nature Boy is a Nat King Cole cover. Katy Perry, who endorsed the tune Runaway with her voice, gave it some more recognition. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is finding an old grand piano hidden in the attic. The piano was fascinating to her the possibilities it offered. Parents May-Britt along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as an occupation or pastime but for growth. The Aksnes family advised her to compose. As well as Bjork She also cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. When her mother told her that the songs she wrote could be used to not gain fame for her rather to help people to realize the importance of their work and influence to this world, she began singing them in public. She began playing the piano as her primary instrument when she was six. She started writing music when she turned nine. The family did not have any idea about it until she was 14. Aurora was not a goal. The singer claims she is a fan of creating music. She believes that music is the most effective way to feel anything.
